I’m Nikhil Kulkarni, a multi-faceted creative constantly on the lookout for beauty and aesthetics in all forms of art. I work as a creative director in advertising and design, but my passions extend far beyond that. I’m also an artist, storyteller, writer, poet, typographer, eco-enthusiast, art educator, tabla player, short film maker and a devoted theatre lover. These various forms of art give me the platform to experiment with new ideas and help me to evolve into a better creative person.
My artistic skills are deeply rooted in my family background—my parents, one an architect and the other a fine arts enthusiast, have profoundly influenced my creative journey.
Paper craft is a hobby of mine, illustration is my passion, and theatre is a beloved indulgence. I’m deeply interested in the rich history and cultural traditions found in folk art, tales, and music from around the world. My curiosity drives me to observe, absorb, create, and evolve continuously. I also strive to give back to the community through 'Imagenie Art Hub,' an initiative co-founded with my artist wife Nikita where we run workshops for children, helping them explore and express themselves through different artistic mediums.
Throughout my career as an artist and designer, I always tried to use the shapes, colours and illustrations to tell the stories through my work.
I've been working as an art consultant with many agencies like VGC Delhi, Tree Design Delhi, Oddinery marketing Mumbai, freethinking Bengaluru, freeform Hyderabad etc and startups like Genius Box, Vedastika and many more.
Over the years, I've been honoured to receive awards and accolades from prestigious institutions such as the Communication Arts, Golden Montreux, Kyoorius, India’s best design awards, Archive for my packaging, illustrations, innovative outdoors and identity designs work.
I’hv been working with some of the most recognisable brands in India, such as PVR Cinemas, Tata Global Beverages, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever, Honda, Dabur, Yatra.com, Indian Express, World Trade Centre, Hershey’s, Pringles, Unilever, Lakme, Kellogg’s, Sony Tv, Vaseline, Burger King, Maruti Suzuki and kissan.
